2013 Global Learning Symposium
For the second year, the Global Learning Symposium took place the same day as the URSCI Expo (Wednesday, April 3, 2013). The Global Learning Symposium is an exposition of graduate and undergraduate posters and oral presentations on global initiatives and study abroad experiences, as well as other global issues. URSCI's on-line journal will premiere Spring, 2013
The Advisory Committee for the Dominican University Undergraduate Research Journal is pleased to announce the new name of the URSCI on-line undergraduate research journal: "The Constellation: A Journal of Undergraduate Research." The creative, new title was submitted by Marie-Louise Settem, Instructional Services Coordinator in GSLIS, who asked that the $100 prize be donated to the Sisters' Retirement Fund.

The deadline for Summer and Fall, 2013, URAPs was April 1, 2013. Faculty may now apply for more than one semester of student assistance. If you wish to apply, please see the link under URAP in the Initiatives section.
The 2013 Undergraduate Summer Scholars are
- Geraldine Holmes (Neuroscience),
- Joanna Sasara (Mathematics) and
- Tyehimba Turner (Biology).
URSAs are awarded on an on-going basis. There are no deadlines. Monies are awarded until funds are depleted.
2013 URSCI Expo
This year's Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Investigations Expo took place on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in conjunction with the Global Learning Symposium.
The evening before the Expo (Tuesday, April 2), there was a juried undergraduate student film festival in the Lewis Social Hall. Lyra Hill, an accomplished filmmaker in the Chicago area, was the guest juror for the evening. Abberlyn Pick won Best of Show and the Audience Award for her animated short film Clayton and I. Corey McClure, one of URSCI's 2012 Summer Scholars began the evening with a presentation of his photographic essay Outside In. We hope this can become a Dominican tradition!
